Urban development plans for Gernsheim The eel-fisher Dutch cutter "Hannelore", which lies stranded at the western tip of Gernsheim's harbor, has become a favored sightseeing destination. However, the birthplace of Peter Schöffer, Gutenberg's apprentice, has much more to offer: its location in the Rhine river's vast pastureland, good transportation hubs, schools, public institutions, service offers and sports venues in a tight radius. Students of urban development at the TU Darmstadt researched the city's potential and with their diverse and imaginative plans illustrate how Gernsheim's city center and outlying areas could be made enjoyable for inhabitants and more attractive and accessible for visitors. > > look inside language: german format: 21.0 x 28.0 cm 158 pages, 73 pages of color illustrations/images published: may 2014 publisher: Technische Universität Darmstadt Architecture Department, Design and Residential Construction Prof. Dr.Ing.
